Jack Knife

This vine­yard has so many sto­ries! The land was set­tled in the 1800’s because of the arte­sian springs allowed peo­ple to live there and dry farm grains. Our first son mar­ried our daugh­ter-in-law in the restored barn. The name is derived from dri­ving by with our youngest son to check out the pos­si­bil­i­ty of buy­ing the site when we came upon a semi truck and trail­er jack knifed on the sharp turn in the dirt road enter­ing the vine­yard! Once we acquired the site the named seemed nat­ur­al. The high ele­va­tion of Jack Knife ripens the fruit ear­ly with ripe dark fruit flavors.
